Bogus &co rout after 1 casualty?
Here I was, all geared up for a massive battle, prepared to lose vast amounts of troops to the dreaded Bogus and his hit squad.
Battle starts, both sides buff up, the Dark Knight flies into my battle line and gets chopped up after trashing some cannon (sword?)- fodder. Next thing I know, the Brave Fellowship of Heroes do a runner - without any of the survivors even coming close to contact with my troops. If this is a result of the rule that commanders without troops flee the field after the first casualty, how come Bogus is so feared? It's not as if my army contained any special troops; just cav, Sidhe inf, longbowmen. |

You were lucky enough to kill Fadmarghast before Kartuk summoned ghost wolves or Bogus went berserk.

Using a (preferably flying and/or quickened) commander with high attack and damage Ratings and an armor-negating weapon usually does the trick. And it's even better if a few nature mages can entangle the Gryphon rider before. Set everyone to retreat after a round or two and try again next month if it failed.
Maybe you could give one of the heroes a Skull Talisman or Moonvine Bracelet to spice things up? |
