a traitor priest burned my army!
its unbelievable.
one of my own marignon nigh inquisitors suddenly burned my entire army to ashes. i thought he was on my side! it was like a huge nuclear explosion and then he started to teleport himself around the battlefield while blowin himself up even more. the point is that he killed about 100 of my devoted subjects. how could this happen? im afraid all my moronic priests will now copy him. game over. im about level 7 in research in each branch. the priest shoulda been level 1 fire and level 4 priest with prolly some fire gems. im too shocked to even load the game again. O-M-G !! o_O |
Re: a traitor priest burned my army!
That sounds like Phoenix Pyre. When a unit with Phoenix Pyre on dies, he explodes, and respawns elsewhere on the field. Your priest probably was simply trying to protect himself from being killed, but one side effect of the dying is that it causes an explosion. This explosion usually should harm primarily enemies, if the enemies kill you in melee combat and are therefore nearby, but if you are killed by long-ranged spells and arrows, you will explode without enemies being caught in the bLast radius. If the friendlies haven't cleared out, they will be caught in the bLast instead.

oic, thx alot norfleet. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
i guess its impossible to order my commanders to *not* use this spell, right? |
Re: a traitor priest burned my army!
It requires fire2 to cast, so fire1 mages will never cast it without gems. That is the only way I guess, except placing your fire mages that are likely to die far away from others. Fire resistance is supposed to protect as well but currently does not.
