\'Conserve Gems\' command?
I was wondering if there was a way to put a 'Conserve Gems' command in the battle orders, often i find myself wanting my commanders to cast only 1 or 2 specific spells in battle and then not waste anymore gems (Storm, Wrath...) unfortunately its not really feasible because a commander with extra gems seems to cast spells that use gems in preference of those that dont. It would be useful if i could script in a command to not use any more gems in the battle. just a thought.

Re: \'Conserve Gems\' command?
The most common "fix" for that is to have scouts along and leave them hidden. Its useful for many things. Storing extra gems, keeping blood slaves out of the battle, and holding equip that you dont need yet and dont want to possibly lose. Like wall busting equip or special crossbows

Re: \'Conserve Gems\' command?
True... But in the case i was speaking of (my air mage wrath'ers) i like to hold a few at a laboratory as a force in readiness and cloud trapeeze them out. add to that the fact that quite a few air mages have flight, and quite often the scouts just can't keep up. For example, i cloud trapeezed a Harbinger with a bag of winds and a staff of storms out into a massive army of Ermorians. I sent him with 6 gems just because i had extra and he had a province to retreat back into (more than 1 since he's a flier). He demolished the ermorian army, but then in the movement phase another army moved in and he had no gems left, so he got beat up a little then retreated. If he could simply be told not to use anymore gems he would have demolished the second army too...
I hadnt thought about using scouts and sneaking like that though, thanks. |
