More of AI breaking spell scripts
Can anyone explain to me why the AI would _REFUSE_ to bloody cast "Summon Lammashtas"???
I've put 2 death gems on an onyx priestess (who has Death 1) and script her to cast Summon Lammashtas right off the bat. 1 gem gets her to death 2, 1 gem for the spell. There's _LOTS_ of enemies on the field. But apparently the #@$#@ AI decided not to waste the 2 death gems. Again - can anyone explain this? Better, could someone at Illwinter make it so that the bloody mages cast what they're told to, when it's possible for them to? |
Re: More of AI breaking spell scripts
Oh, this one's easy: Your priestess is a D1 mage, and can therefore expend only 1 death gem to cast any spell. Therefore, by expending 1 gem to achieve D2 casting, you've met your quota for how many gems you can expend, and therefore cannot expend any more gems....such as to actually cast the spell.

Re: More of AI breaking spell scripts
I'm not sure why they failed to cast the spell. I would like to say from what I've experienced this is one of the worst spells to cast because there's a good chance the Lammashtas will attack the caster.
I even won a battle against a computer opponent because the Lammashtas killed the necromancer once they were summoned. All the undead marching towards my army, (40+ units), withered away. On a different occasion I had them kill one of my witches after being summoned. |

I've long since stopped reading the manual since manuals of games invariably fail to either keep up with changes due to patching, or are outright poorly written, misleading, and useless.
