Some magic site questions
I just found a site in a SP game that gives an Enchantment bonus. Am I right that what this means is that if I am standing in the province when I cast a global enchantment, I still have to pay the normal cost, but the bonus is tacked on in the form of "extra gems," making it more difficult to dispel?
Also, I've recently spotted an Inkpot End with a Spy. I've heard these are bad, so I haven't actually taken the province yet. Can anyone tell me what it does? I know there's a list of magic sites out there but its an Excel file which I unfortunately can't use. |
Re: Some magic site questions
Inkpots spread disease and adds to unrest by 5 every turn. I have no idea what enchantment/conjuration bonuses give, or the math behind it. I'm guessing that you spend less gems when you cast one of those spells from a bonus province, but I don't know what the number means.

Inkpot end spreads disease (at random, not to every unit in the prov) and causes 5 unrest/turn.
It's just RNG sadism. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon8.gif Especially annoying when it appears at a choke point. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/shock.gif Maybe there should be a "shuffle magic sites in province" high level alteration for SP perfectionists? Magic school bonus sites reduce the number of gems you need to cast spells. There may be cases where the program checks for the normal number first as a requirement, before debiting you the reduced amount. I'm not sure that you get a bonus for extra gems spent beyond that of saving some portion of the base cost. Excellent question. It probably should act as you describe, but I don't know that it does. Rabe the EPA/FEMA reject. [ May 09, 2004, 18:29: Message edited by: rabelais ] |

Re: Some magic site questions
Use OpenOffice 1.1.1. Converts Excel2000 files just fine, at least if they're simple tables.
(Have tested with the Win32 Version only, though.) |
