Favorite castle type for castle spamming?
 

So all of you castle spammers, what is your favorite castle type and why?

Do you like the midrange Fortress? 60 points, decent defence?

Perhaps the bargin basement watch tower? Low cost in gold, low point cost, and a 2 turn building time?

Or perhaps the luxary Wizard's tower? Good build time, low gold cost, some defence, decent admin, but a boat load of points.

Maybe it's the generic model, the Castle that is your fav. A little of everything, and a midrange price?

Perhaps you go for defence over all other things and go for the dark citadel/mountain citadel. Hard to storm, but they take a long time and a lot of gold to build. Cheap in points though.

So what's the concensus ( if I did not mention any it's just that I was getting tired ).

As the canonical castle spammer, I favor the watchtower, due to its low cost in gold, time, and points. Admin rating is somewhat secondary when your intent is to plug every single province on the map with them, rendering annoyances like Ghost Riders ineffective against you.

Furthermore, the defensive layout of the Watchtower is top notch: No bothersome walls to impede the exit of your forces, since they're obviously too stupid to stand in the gate and not move.

I dont spam, but I like lots of forts with some nations. And for many of these, I like one you didnt mention: The Mausoleum. A bargain on points, admin, cost, and time, sucking only in defense. But those measly 25 pts of defense WILL stop those 1-turn attacks and give you at least 1 turn to move in and repel those stormers.
