question about Nether Darts

since it is a astral spell, but has the death path in it, what give it more darts?

i did some testing but its too hard to see how many darts there are.

i checked SUNRAY'S VIRTUAL LIBRARY under What is not in the spell manual ! and that didnt give me any info also.
