"Improved AI" mod - feedback appreciated
 
Following a thread here, I've made a simple mod to help AI building "better" units, by simply increasing the resource cost of all "crap" units to 999.
"Crap" units are loosely defined here as troops of human size, very lightly protected (6-), with average (or worse) morale and no good missile weapon.
I've made the changes for all national units as well as indies, and the human player(s). It should be complete but I've not checked everything ... Notes about the changed units are directly in the .dm file, no readme has been ade.
My test games showed that the AI units were now rather better, as the AI still builds the cheapest units, but those are now usually Medium inf or better http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon6.gif . But to get rid of it the mod has to be split in 18 sub-mods, one for the indies plus one per nation...
For SP an alternative is to rather make 17 "everything-except-that-nation" sub-mods.

Would make it pretty hard to play Pangaea also.
But it may work as a test-bed for finding out if the AI really WOULD be better off not spending money on mass infantry.

Any idea what the AI builds if everything is priced the same? (Just a random thought.)

It would be nice if we could script some AI build and combat behaviors as per SE4. Of course, this sort of statement leads to an almost endless series of "want to be able to mod this stuff" dreams. LOL! Poor dev team.
