When can you see candles?
I've noticed that the very same scouting unit scouting in different provinces will get different levels of feedback.
A scout or a priest (that is: not a spy, who yields more information) will not always, however, be able to tell you what the dominion situation is in a province she or he is in. But maybe I am confused: maybe the chance of you being able to decipher the candles in a province depends on your dominion? Or maybe on how far away your dominion is in terms of provinces? Sometimes I can see a largish red candle: -4 enemy dominion. But sometimes, even with a scout in the province, I just don't know squat about it. Perhaps someone can help: Under what conditions can I see the (size of the red) candle of an enemy-controlled province? |
Re: When can you see candles?
From what I understand, you only see the candles and detect the dominion for provinces that either have positive (maybe neutral) dominion, and for provinces that are next to a province you have friendly dominion in.
I think owning the province also lets you see the flags, so you can tell how bad things are when you have one province left with a 2 dominion, and huge red flags in all your other provinces. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif |
Re: When can you see candles?
Thank you, but that is definately not the case in at least a couple of games I am playing currently. I can see *negative* candles in provinces which are both not adjacent to ones I own and also are not adjacent to provinces in which I have a positive dominion.
I think something else is afoot. |
