confused on EMP files
I must be missing something
how do I get a the details in the AI-general file to show up on the race description ? the e.g. EA come with this done for you, but not some of the "official" races or e.g the Startrek races, and everything I try fails help and thanks |
Re: confused on EMP files
what I have done with my races is decide how I want them to act, put the AI general files in there (after making sure latest patch/MOd is installed) then run a comparison between that and a generic race that as same attribute (eg organic maipulation or temporal) then change the values in research, nbd the build files to go the way I want. also make sure you follow the AI_general/txt file outline in making the empire the first time in the start game (new race). then save game once in (also make sure the new race is the one you are running.
hope this helps. |
Re: confused on EMP files
:-\
I think what was meant is, "When I'm adding an empire manually, how do I get the AI_General to show up?" If that is so, the answer is - you can't. You have to copy the information from the General_AI file into the game thingy, then save the EMP file after you've made it. :-\ Alternatively, play a game with Random AI players on, and keep trying until the empire you want comes 'up' in the player list. THen change this Empire to Human from copmptuer, and save its EMP file. . . Happy conqering. John Beech |
Re: confused on EMP files
I tried doing that with one of the supplied races and got a "need password" message when it was their turn. Never did figure that out.
In the mod section someone did upload a file with the .emp files for all the races that shipped with the game. It's a way back. |
