play by email?
I'm sorry if this has been asked, but I don't see it in the FAQ and a search of "play by email" turns up no hits.
My LAN is temporarily down, and I'd like to start a game now, rather than waiting until I resolve the LAN problem. Can some kind soul please point me to instructions for hosting over email? In particular, what files do I need people to send me, and what do I send them back. Anything to watch out for in terms of switching back to LAN after playing by email? Thanks, Merry http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif |
Re: play by email?
You need to send each player his relevant .trn file. He sends you back his corresponding .2h file.
You do NOT need to send ANYONE the "ftherlnd" file, nor do you need to send anyone a .2h of any kind, nor do you need to send people the .trns which do not pertain to the nation they are playing. Any other files that the player sends back to YOU other than the .2h should be discarded. Switching back and forth from PBEM to TCP hosting is painless from the system's standpoint, although your players may become confused. That sounds like a personal problem to me, soldier. Thanks Norfleet. What files do they send to me, to start? Where do I put them?

Thanks Norfleet. What files do they send to me, to start? The file (whatever it's called) that defines their god? Where do I put them?
