Summer sword supply bonus, hmm..

My pretender forged 2 summer swords, which I equipped on different commanders (since they don't stack the supply effect if wielded by the same commander).

The results was as it should be, which the supply usage by my army confirmed.

I proceeded to attack an adjacent province, and having calculated my supplies before attacking, I did, as expected, end up with a nice army using (-2) supplies in a 0 supply province.

Only problem is that almost all units in my army are starving anyway. Why?

Is there a bug with the summer swords? Do they only give 25 supply bonus instead of 50? Don't they stack, even though they are wielded by different commanders?

If the Supply Usage = -2, then it's probably a bug.

i'm not clear whether the supply bonus of an item on a stealthy unit really takes effect. were the swords on scouts?

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">The supply bonus definitely still works for stealthy units - I put wine bags on scouts constantly.

The summer swords were not on stealthy units.

A negative supply usage is not a bug. It is a Good Thing(TM) when fighting Ashen Ermor. It simply means that the army is generating more supplies than it is using.

Except for some reason, my summer sword army isn't. I have always used wineskins, but this time I needed to provide a lot of supply bonus fast, so I went for the summer swords, which are cheaper than cauldrons.

Anyone else have experience with summer swords, or do y'all use wineskins and/or cauldrons of broth?

If you have negative supply usage, your army shouldn't be starving. I can't think of a reason. I don't remember actually being in a supply-0 province with human-type troops, however; that may be something special. Maybe that overrides something? Did you check for special events?

Perhaps someone else is sneaking around as well. I'm not sure how that would affect your supplies.

Something seems to be strange though.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">yeah does it show the starve icon or are they only diseased ? perhaps a harvester of sorrows is in the same province and deseases your troops .

I've seen starvation at times when I shouldn't have as well. Playing Pangaea, I had something like Supplies 52, Supply Usage 54, yet had about 7 units starving when it should only have been 1 or 2.

I think I have had something like Cainehill, but the numbers were other way round... My units were starving even though I had ~5 supplies more than needed. That might have been the case of stealthy units, or just few scouts, though.
