Gem holding limit?

Is there a limit to the number of gems a commander can hold?

I have a guy running around with a pain sickle, and he seems to have mysteriously maxxed out at 30 gems.

yeah the limit is 30 gems per leader .
i thought it was in the manual but can't find it at the moment .
but i am 100% sure that the limit is 30 gems per leader .
