Semi OT - Quick & dirty DirectX renderer?

OK, here's a silly question... Anyone know of a 3D renderer which simply takes a DirectX textured mesh (.X + .BMP) and camera coordinates as its input and renders it to a .BMP file? Or will I have to go and write my own, or take screenshots from the DirectX SDK's mesh viewer? It seems so simple that someone MUST have done it already, so there seems little need for me to bother writing one - but I can't find one as of yet...

I'm not as familiar with DirectX as I am with OpenGL, but it sounds like it would just be a quick sub-100-line program, if DirectX has the functions it should have for parsing/writing X and BMP files... but sorry, haven't heard of a program that does this. Consider it a learning experience (and if I had a compiler and the DX SDK here, I could probably write a quickie for you) http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
