Making finite resources maps with the map editor

Recently I've become interested in 1) finite resources games and 2) making my own maps using different system names.

Is it possible to use the map editor (the one that came on the SE4 Gold CD) to generate finite resources maps? I tried it, but when I then began a game, the amount of finite resources appears as part of the planet info, but with "%" after it. Like this:

357482%

instead of:

357k

Also, in the first game I began with an editor-generated map, my home planet was in a system through which was passing a giant comet or whatever it is. This has never happened to me before in an SE4 game.

What I am trying to do is produce maps with new system names and finite resources planets, for use in any new games I start. I'm not placing any races in those maps when I create them.

When you start your new game, check off "Finite Resources" in the Game Setup -> Quadrant screen, then load the map. The game will then use finite tons instead of %

The map editor dosen't know how you're going to be using the map, so it just assumes infinite resources and dosen't worry http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif.
