Crash upon start?
 

Hi, it's good to be part of this forum, and I can't wait to dive into this game, but I cannot as of yet. After installing on my machine, and patching up to the current patch, the game crashes consistently on start up, claiming an illegal operation. The machine is win 98, athlon 750, 256 ram, Geforce 3 64 meg card, with current drivers. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Try starting the game with the -ws switch to start in windowed mode with no sound. Maybe that will work.

If it doesn't start with the -dd switch to enable debug output and check the resulting log file.

You should also make sure to empty your temp directory of any directories that look like "dom16882", as those can cause a crash on startup.
