Who would win?

Thought I posted this the other night, but cannot find the post... hmmm

Question was who is the likely victor in a SC VQ (quick, mist, mirror, iron, BoW) vs a lamashta queen, several lamias, and several horned serpents. I generally have a tendency to be surprised by what kills a VQ and surprised by what a VQ can kill. If the province lacks the VQ dominion, the risk of this combat is fairly high from at least one perspective. Is this a non-issue because its a slam dunk?

What's the most impressive force you have seen a non-equipped VQ take out?

Thx

probably the lamia queen wins :
script : eagle eye , dust to dust x4 .

the lamias + the serpents keep the vq busy and the lamia queen should kill her with the above suggestioned script .

unequipped vq is killed pretty easy by players .
5 strong fliers with attack orders + magical weapons are normally enough .
this is especially frustrating against caelum + abysia/mictlan .

i use my vq as indykiller/sitesearcher , midgame as forger/summoner . lategame i equip her normally good .

my vq only sees combat against raiderforces / weak attackers normally which she picks via cloud trapeze .
mainly it is a defensive weapon .

You can edit a .map file pretty easy to put those into a game and have them fight. Starting a new game would put them there so you can fight again. Run the tests as often as you wish.

There is a "tiny map" at the www.dom2minions.com site which was created for that purpose. Quick little battle simulator games

can you modify research too ?
the vq would need lots of research http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif
alteration 7 + con 8 to be precise for fully equipped vq .

lamias would need charm too for tests etc http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif

so can you add starting gems + research with mapedit too ?

i just like at the moment to think of strategies , then chose this nation in my next mp game and try them out and see how they work . then i try to remember the good parts and improve the parts that didn't work well http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Great little script - what if the lamia queen is an indy, however.? I am going to try the simulated battle option, but I am curious how different an indy spell casting script will look versus the player script described below...

i dunno if the indy lamia queen has dust to dust researched .
i think she would perhaps cast it but lose .
but i never saw an indy lamia queen http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

and not the indies are the problem players are the problem http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif
only indies which can defeat a sc with the normal script you described above are fliers who can disturb him while buffing .
if the sc has protection of 15+ and lifedrain or regen almost no indyarmy can kill him (perhaps a really special indy army at indy 9 like gargoyle+golem army ).

a sc pretender who needs buffing ( vq , ghostking ) win about 90% of the battles against indies ( problem fliers ).
a sc pretender with 15+ protection + lifedrain / regen ( e.g. pod with wraithsword ) wins about 99 % of the battles against indies .

the only advantage of the vq is that she can't die in friendly dominion and heals afflitions while your PoD etc. may be unlucky and get afflictions or die .

against players in mid-lategame SCs alone can't win anymore . with my before suggested script a lamiaqueen e.g. will kill a vq most likely no matter if she is equipped or not . those lifeless things like living statues have good chances too .

now give the SC an army and he is extremely frightening again .

the best "armies" are blood armies because they are strong and relative cheap because blood is so easy aquireable .
