Movement problem

I'm finding that often, despite having played the game for quite a while now, my units don't move at all even though I was sure I gave them movement orders. Somehow I must be cancelling their moves without realizing it. Anyone else have this problem and/or know a solution to it? Thanks.

Sometimes this happens to me, too, but I'm sure it's just because I miss-click or something when dishing out orders. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

What annoys me is that even though I try to be very careful and even double and triple check my orders it still happens at least once a game.

If you remove items from a commander to place in the lab you will cancel that commander's orders. You will also cancel orders if you assign troops incapable of following the commander after you've already given the commander its orders. Misclicking will also do it. As will looking at the forge items menu, even if you cancel out of the menu. You can, however, examine the cast ritual menu safely as long as you cancel out of that one.

Heh. In the Last week and a half, I lost my pretender, because instead of traveling with the 8 Seraphs and High Seraphs he was grouped with ... He wound up on _patrol_ all by himself when Vanheim sailed in.

I've also had units wander into the wrong destinations, and I've seen orders get changed and corrected them - typically when alt-tabbing from Dominions2 to look at another window; I believe Dominions is still looking at the mouse for a split second (mouse grab or some such), so if a commander is selected, it'll get snarled up. Also when you go to click on something like a commander portrait, it will sometimes decide you clicked on the province under the cursor, which will occasionally give the wrong move order, but will more often set the unit to defend because it couldn't move there.

I'm started to think that it's important to select an empty province before doing some actions; a bit of a PITA, but safer.

I think if the province gets attacked magically this cancels movement orders too .
I am not sure but i think it happened sometimes to me if someone casted e.g. call of winds then my troops fought the magical battle and forgot their orders to adavance .
