I still don\'t see it...

so, it's me, once again!!!
This time, I am playing with a Son of the Sun, S6, D3 and in battle he was supposed to cast personnal luck, astral weapon, hands of death, blink...but he never made it past the second spell and started casting something else...as
I know that they are supposed to listen to what I say, I guess I am doing something wrong, but as those spells don't need gems, I don't see what could prevent my pretender from casting them...it's not fatigue as he casts other spells...
Idea anyone???

Another factor you need when casting spells, is Range.

Your particular issue with that script is the Hand of Dust.

Try this Order, for fun:

Personal Luck, Astral Weapon, Astral Shield, Blink, Hand of Dust.

Hand of Dust will only be cast if there is something near you, if there isn't he'll cast another spell based on the spell weighting.

I'd reverse the Astral Weapon and Astral Shield spells, but that's just me.

ah ok thx! but I thought that as the spell enchanted the pretender's hand, range didn't matter...I should read the description!!!
the thing is, he didn't cast "Blink" either...

It's not the range that dictates astral shield before astral weapon. If you're still casting spells, you're not using the astral weapon until done casting. Astral shield first means that things attacking you already have a chance to be paralyzed.

I meant, in order to cast "Hand of dust". Because he was supposed to cast this as his second spell and he didn't;
any idea why he didn't cast "Blink"????

There was something strange going on with blink earlier. I think it has been remedied.

Of course, if you're getting anything out of Astral Shield, it means you've been attacked in hand to hand, and therefore have a 50% chance of being forced to respond in turn. With high attack skill, and against small Groups of high-MR opponents, Astral Weapon can be more than twice as effective as Astral Shield.
Therefore, putting Astral Weapon first in the queue is not ALWAYS unwise, just nearly always.

Straying off course is fun!
