New games?

How often do games get started? I'm hanging out for my first MP game and it's killing me!

Many MP games run on the mosehansen server. But it only runs a maximum of 23 games at a time, so when it's full, people wait for a game to finish to start a new one.

You could always post an advertisement for a PBEM game detailing the settings you like. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Yarnspinners seems to be looking for replacement players, though it's a specialist game.

Or you could always ask Alneyan to start a new PBEM game as he seems to be unable to resist offers of a new game and perversely enjoys the hosting work. However, even the tireless Alneyan may be getting a little overworked I believe. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Yes, Yarnspinners is currently looking for two replacements, as Atlantis and Machaka. This game is mostly intended to allow the writing of AARs, though it isn't mandatory.

I may be launching another PBEM game later on, as soon as I get my schedule for the next school year (on Monday or Tuesday). I still have to think about settings though: perhaps another game "themes and nations that are overlooked".

More generally speaking, games are started when there is a spot available on a server, and/or when there are enough players looking for a new game. You should be able to create your own game and get some players however, as there are always at least a few players waiting for a new game.

Yes, for my first time I think I will hold off hosting!
Hmm, I could take over one of those, I am a handy writer. I know little about either race. Would you be interested?

Definitively! Zen wrote something about Atlantis in the Boards, in case you would like to see someone else playing them (I never managed to get them to work myself), and the same should hold true for Machaka (if nothing else, I could give you a few pointers, but I am no expert on Machaka). Having a powerful nation is not so important in this game however, so you should be doing fine.

If you are interested, feel free to send me a PM with your mail, and I will transmit the password and the turn file. Or simply email me at alneyan[AT]fastmail[DOT]co.uk
