Dominions failing to launch.

My Dom2 fails to launch ... it opens the window, but the wondow closes itself before it appears the main menu.

I remember that Dom2 creates a strange file, but I don't remember nor the path where the file is created nor the name.

The forum search doesn't work so smoothly as it should and it's impossible to find what I'm looking for.
Someone can help?

I add I'm doing a new mod, directly operating in the Dom2 mods directory ... this could create problems ?

It should be under c:\temp\dom16882 if you are running windows. You can also check the stderr.txt file in your Dominions directory to see any error Messages there.

The mod is very likely the problem. Make sure that sprites called in the mod have the right path and name. Linux Version is case sensitive so avoid capitals in both dm file and sprites unless you want to ban linux Users (that's us).

From my memory I recall rather that in the case of incorrect mods there was a "clear" Nagot Gick Fell window message, only temp dom16682 problems resulted in messageless crashing...
But surely KO is more knowledgeable than me on the subject ! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif
