bizarre blood hunt results
 

I've been experimenting with hunting for blood slaves in my capital, as Mictlan. Sometimes, though, I lose my scales! In particular, heat and/or growth disappear. This tends to happen within the first couple turns of the game; only those two ever disappear, sometimes just one of them. I can get them back by working my dominion all the way up to maximum and then waiting for a while, but I don't see any reason why this would happen at all. It only happens when I'm bloodhunting, and then only sometimes. There's no event associated with it. It stinks, because the lost money really is useful early in the game... Can anyone explain this, or is it a bug?

Scales disappearing is a known aspect of the game. Many of us consider it a bug. BTW, it's not related to hunting as it happens even if you don't.

It just seemed strange to me that it would reliably be the same two scales, it would usually happen when I was bloodhunting, and it would never happen when I wasn't (I must've tried it 30 times, so there's fairly high confidence on these claims). But this is normal? Weird...

The bug affects 3 scales actually: order, production and growth, and only when they're positive. Heat/cold may change slightly depending on the season, but this is by design (ie, not a bug).

It's not normal, but what causes it is still unknown.
