resource gathering questions
 

I'm trying to get a complete picture of what determines how many resources are available in a province. I have seen some useful information on the FAQ, but some questions are unanswered. And, I thought it would be helpful to gather all of the info into one place.

If I have a fort, I gather resources from adjacent provinces, in proportion to the administration value of the fort, right?
I believe I need to own the adjacent province, right? Does the rate of resource gathering from adjacent provinces depend on my dominion level in the adjacent province? Does it depend on my dominion value in the fort province? Does it depend on my level of unrest in the adjacent province? In the fort province?

One thing that I've always found confusing is that provinces I don't own have "gold" symbols on them. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't get any gold (or resources) from unowned provinces, right?

as far as i know, having a castle in the province simply doubles the resources available from that province; in addition, the administration value of the fort returns that percentage of resources from neighbouring friendly provinces.

the only complication is when having overlapping forts.

dominion has no effect i believe, though it may increase resources by dominion %. Unrest reduces resources by the unrest number as a %

also, the gold income of a province w/ a fort is increased by admin/2 %

If your dominion in a province is strong enough you can get all sorts of information on it, even if you do not own it. Province income requires only a modest level of dominion to start showing up. This is probably why you're seeing gold symbols in provinces you don't own.
