Difference between Astral Projection and Window
I am bit short of time to try, and a search didnt reveal much: What is the difference between AstralProjection and AstralWindow?
From the description, I would only say that the Window costs one pearl (and path) more for the sole benefit of not endangering the caster. Is there anything else? How long do these spells Last? Can the caster used for something else in the next round? Thanks! |
Re: Difference between Astral Projection and Windo
Astral Window is also a standard spell of Arcoscephale, and is perfectly safe for the caster.
The duration of Astral Window is 2 or 3 turns per casting, plus one turn per additional pearl. Once the spell is cast, the caster can do something else. I have never tried Arcane Projection as you can see; in most cases where I would have killed for information, the other side had Astral Mages of her own, so. |
Re: Difference between Astral Projection and Windo
Thanks! I just wonder why anybody should ever use Astral Projection though, since Astral2 is pretty easy to come by, even for non-astral nations and saving one pearl is certainly not worth the risk...

Re: Difference between Astral Projection and Windo
I'm using astral projection quite a lot in a current game as Caelum. I found the crystal amazons early, and mass produced the astral 1 priestesses for research. After completing all research, they have become fairly expendable, so I've been using the pristesses to cast astral projection. I have the chalice in the same province, so they recover from feeblemind quickly. The feebleminding also gives the positions of enemy astral mages. Since astral mages tend to have low hp, I pepper those provinces with seeking arrows. If I had astral 4 mages to spare, I could use them to mind hunt provinces that failed to feeblemind my projectionists. |
