OT: Happy Thanksgiving!

Well, I don't know if you're celebrating this fine holiday today, but we are. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Well, on that subject ... what's everyone going as?

I have no special plans, but if something comes up, its a simple task to: throw on a bathrobe, stick a bone in my beard, stick a yellow gummi fish in my ear, and stick "Dont Panic" on the outside of my palm pilot. If the party calls for it, I can scare up a bottle of retsina and a British Airways bag.

Then I can walk around while no one gets it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Well except for having candy for the neighborhood kids thats not really the All Hallows Eve we will be celebrating. My son and his fiance might go to some party but if they do I suspect he will go as a thug.
When I DO want to do something costumey/haunted-housey there is one thing I love to do. I hook up blacklights over the doorway and turn them on, then turn on the regular lights also. WIpe down our skin with that ink they mark you with at concerts that glows under blacklight but is invisible otherwise.

Then when someone deserves to get a good scare I ask them "what do you think of my costume?" they look at me funny and say something like yeah ok it looks fine. Then I say "great because usually I look like this!" and turn off the white-lights. The black light hits me, glowing face and hands in uneven patches, black holes where the eyes were, teeth and nails all yellowy. The instant change sends most adults running for a few steps at least. Its the catching them so off-guard that makes it work. We have learned NOT to do this to trick-or-treaters. But its great to do to cocky adults or teens who come dressed like "rappers" for candy.

Great desert idea, by me: A float in a bowl. None of the problems of trying to get ice cream out of a narrow opening. I like vanilla and orange pop.
