Invalid Data Files error
A player in my game got this message when tried to open the first turn while another player withdrew from this game before he did the first turn.
Now, before processing of the second turn, another player took the place of the one who withdrew. Funny thing is that he is using a completely different username but the empire name and shipset are identical!! What should I do?? Upload the first turn again as a replacement turn and hope that the first mentioned player get the right data? Help! |
Re: Invalid Data Files error
The player who got this error message most likely got it because he was trying to open the game in the stock Version. While most of FQM's changes are in the new quadrant types, it also has some changed and new planet type information and different population modifiers, so the players do need to use the mod in order to play.
The replacement player's empire name and shipset are the same as the original because replacement players don't get the option of changing them. The game has already started, so all details about the empire are already fixed. The replacement player just gets to take over the empire the original player set up. Edit: That replacement player needs to change his empire's password. Zarathustra also needs to do it. Their empires currently don't have passwords, so anyone can load the game as them and see exactly where they are and what they're doing. |
Re: Invalid Data Files error
Ah, thanks douglas, I'll email the player with the problem and hopefully things get figured out.
