OT - Bittorrent
Does anyone know the answer to this question?
Suppose I run bittorrent to download some GNU software or something... does bittorrent only share my upload bandwidth to share that particular software, or does it actually scan my entire hard drive for music and such??? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/eek.gif |
Re: OT - Bittorrent
Just that particular software. Remember, this stuff is written by people for their own use, and they wouldn't want RIAA to have easy access to their hard drives.

Re: OT - Bittorrent
Incidentally, how can Bittorrent transfer the files you have downloaded through this means? I see no client to speak of; do you have to initiate a download of your own to share all your Bittorrent files? Or something else?

Re: OT - Bittorrent
BitTorrent is a GNU software. Sharing drives and music files that werent selected specifically for distribution by an author would be very much against its created purpose.
