Dark Nova 4 Question

I noticed that there are no empire files in the mod. If I copy the stock empire files into the DN4 Empires directory will they use the new shipsizes, components and facilities?

Re: Dark Nova 4 Question

The best way to do it is to start a game with random AIs.
You can then set the AIs to player control, and save them to EMP files.

This way, you'll know that the empire files you create are valid for the mod.

Re: Dark Nova 4 Question

Of course, you can always just use the random AIs.

Adds more mystery to the game, and you won't know what to expect on first contact http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Then again, if you want "more mystery" i suggest you to play PBW. A real player can change his mind quite fast and be really...surprising http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Re: Dark Nova 4 Question

Just as a note, the AI files created for this mod (by Aiken) were taken from TDM and are quite impressive. So SJ's method will create impressive .emp files.

(note to self: do the same and add .emps to the mod)

Re: Dark Nova 4 Question

Actually AI in DN4 is a combination of TDM and Trek_Bab5 (by SonofKang) scripts with minor changes. Unfortunately I forgot to ask for permission to use these scripts for dn4 ai http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif
I guess I have to do it now (if it's not too late) and clarify that this AI is derivative.
