urgent: sat-launching in simultanus games ?
Hi everyone, a rather urgent question: In an ongoing pbw game i want my satellite layers to launch ONE satellite per turn, unfortunally the "smallest" component only allows launching of 4 sats per game turn. Is there a way to tell my ships to launch 1 sat a time ?
Thanks a bunch ! p.s. the sats are scanning satellites with cloaking armor and i want to deploy one per system. |
Re: urgent: sat-launching in simultanus games ?
If you put 1 sat bay and some cargo bays, are you saying it will launch more than 1 sat when given the "Launch Remote" order? I thoguht it only launched 1 sat and then you could move again to another location and launch another one.

It will launch as many as it can. So you end up either launching at least four per sector, or reloading the ship with a single satellite for each sector. One work-around is to send two ships. One has no launcher and holds the satellites in storage. The other has a launcher and gets one satellite manually given to it each turn.

Well, anther fked up feature in se4.
Thanks for your help PvK, then again my plan was to send cloaked sat layers deep into hostile terrain, and not to send cloaked transports and sat layers http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif Will do it that way. Thanks a bunch! |
Re: urgent: sat-launching in simultanus games ?
I once built a series of small ships, frigates I think, something I could build in one turn with SY-III, called "Cloak and Daggers." I would pick some nebula in each system I wanted to spy, load one cloaked satellite on each ship and zip it out at speed 13 (Propulsion Expert Trait) to do it's job. I think I had the spy network up and running from concept to completion in 6 turns.http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif
