Newly aquired races planets rioting??

It seems on some of my newly aquired races planets they are less than pleaed with their surrender and are rioting!?! Don't they see the prosperity my rule will bring for them? Don't they understand their forced slavery will benefit billions of my people far more than there supposed freedom would benefit them??

Anyway, in their riotous (sp?) state, they are being less than productive... So how to I pacify these unapreciative bumpkins??

Thanks,

Ken

As one leader to another, I would strongly suggest parking a fleet of no less than 10 ships over a target planet and allow the citizans time, (10 turns) to come to their senses and welcome you as the leader of their race. Of course, it would be to their benifit to build temporal (if you have temporal technology) vacation sites on one planet within a newly aquired system. If no temp tech, the urban pacification centers on each planet would be of great benifit.

The may take some time, but time is on your side.

Or you could do what I do, and upload the ungrateful things up to a cargo transport and introduce them to oblivion via a rapidly evacuating atmosphere. Then simply abandon the planet but leave the tech and buildings.

Best of luck. May we meet in battle someday. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif

You can also build troops on the planet. They increase the happiness on the planet. You can also get the Urban Pacification Center which increases the happiness in your system.

Re: Newly aquired races planets rioting??

One easy way to get happy planets with alien races on them is to sneakilly ask for planets as gifts, returning the favor with a gift of resources to keep the stupid AI from realizing it has been conned by the deal.

Doing this late into the game with ones comptuter controlled allies can give you a planet every two turns if you do it right, then you only have to worry about the human players. Of course the new patch will hopefully have made the AI wise to this strategy, planets should NEVER be gifts, but if not we can all enjoy a laugh at the computers expense, and happy productive "gift" populations that become long standing parts of our empires well before we go to war with their former masters.

Take and move them to another planet that is better for them, and move your race to this one. I have found that this seems to fix the riot issue. I have 6 races in my group. And have not had a problem in over 30 turns.
