We Need Another Patch For SE IV.
 

I really feel that another patch is in order for SEIV. I am sorry if this upsets people, but hey, there are some bugs that really need to be killed. Here is one:

1. The AI putting more than one component on a design even though the component has the restriction of ONE PER VEHICLE.

Another patch would be nice to fix a few of the Last remaining bugs, but personally, I'd rather have Aaron working on SEV. Also, didn't he state in the 2 chat's a few months ago that he would NOT be implementing another patch for SEIV? Even if we wanted it, I don't think it would be happening.

I agree completely and if you see the topic about "known bugs" there would be quite a lot to fix in this Last patch.
And I wouldn't mind to pay a few dollars for this Last patch. SE IV is a wonderful game but it didn't reach the perfection regarding bugs as SE III.
However I think that Renegade is correct and Aaron will not come back to SE IV.

There is a reason why Aaron will not do another patch and that is to say a true dissapointment.

Indeed, that is REALLY annoying. There is another think i really hate. The AI seems to not care about restrictions like "this component can only be used on ships" or whatever, it can always place everything component on every design, regardless of restrictions at all...

MHO.. these issues are important and even if there is no new patch for se4, at least if they are brought to Aaron's attention he can make sure these same issues don't creap into se5.

When sending suggestions to Aaron it is not only important to say what you would like, but what you find wrong with se4. It is by getting both kinds of info that Aaron can and will make se5 not only 'more' but 'better' than se4.

I'm not sure why anyone would get upset over you suggesting that we need another patch for SEIV. There would probably be quite a few people that think SE5 is a more important use of Aaron's time. You might also get a few comments to the effect that we can wish for another SEIV patch all you want, but we aren't going to get one. But why would anyone get upset about you wishing for one?

Some time ago I also said we needed another patch for SE IV, after some discussion we all agreed that Aaron's time would be better spend when he focused more on SE V.
I still think this is better, but another patch for SE IV wouldn't hurt.

Why not just make an unofficial\mod patch that fixs it or is there something I am missing that makes this impossible besides being extremely time consuming

That would require either having access to the source code of the game, or illegally reverse-engineering it...
