Fan Fiction Writers

I did some checking and found out that most paper back books have on average between 75,000 and 110,000 words to them.

Well what does this mean to me? Well it means that if your story has a word count within this ball park, well you wrote a book. Congradulations.

So far the only ones I know that have this many words are Rise of the Remorhaz Society, Once Upon The Stars, and couple others that I forgot the names of but never the less are great reads.

Just think, if any of us ever get around to finishing our stories, perhaps we could make some books. The SEIV series. I know that I would nage David Gervias to do the art work for the my book. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

The beautiful thing about SEIV is that it lends itself splendedly to story telling. No other game that I know of aside from Tribes, has given this gift to the players.

My problem is that I have a lot of ideas that I want to use, but getting them organized and into the story has proven to be more than I am able to comprehend. I am working on it, but my story is not a typical story. It is more of a true story in that it tells a story based upon characters and not so much action at the start. Although action is there, it is not the focus of the story.

It does not matter if any ever reads the story, its the journey of writing it that is the appeal. If someone happens to read it, and like it, well then, I am happy. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Nah that's cheating http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

To tell the truth I can't wait till my "Ascendancy" mod is finished so I can write a game story involving my beloved creation the Terrenesi Federated Empire!

I know I've said Icarans are a loved creation and they are because they tell the story of Humanity from a different "human" perspective, (they are also a near and dear creation of mine).

But my first "what if" alien race came to me when I was playing with my toy army men when I was 8 at the time I did not have a name for them, yet already I had begun fleshing out the idea of my later creation (little did I know).

When I was ten (and still drawing, before I realized I suck at art) I drew a warship for the race I had been thinking about since I was eight, and suddenly the name dawned on me "Terrenesi" and I decided to start looking for a place where I could fully develope them. It happened a few months later when I found a forum that had "boardwars" (interactive stories) and throughout that story I used the first encarnation of the Terrenesi.

Over the years they developed into a highly complex society of 4 castes all distinctive in temperment, physical characteristics (they are all the same "sepecies" yet each has different physical characteristics).
Essentially switching from caste to caste I could tell the same story from completely different viewpoints and not even have to switch races.

Well anyway I've ranted on about my beloved creation long enough I suppose.
