Buff That Bod!
 

Hello, and welcome to Buff That Bod, the game show where Pretenders try to take on the world. Today's contestants have no idea who they're going up against. Your job is to cast beneficial spells on them to increase their chance of survival.

Contestant #1 likes moonlit walks, dead bodies and horror movies. He is....The Ghost King!

Contestant #2 likes horses, sailing and eyepatches. He is...The Allfather!

Contestant #3 was dug up just for this contest. It is...The Saurolich!

All contestants have 2-3 levels in each magic path, and absolutely no items whatsoever. The buffs available today are:

Astral Shield
Astral Weapon
Body Ethereal
Breath of Winter
Fire Shield
Ironskin
Mirror Image
Mistform
Personal Luck
Personal Regeneration
Quickness
Resist Magic

So what would you cast for each contestant to best help them survive any challenge? On your mark...get set....Buff That Bod!

I would let the saurolich cast mind duel assuming i fight in own dominion http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif .

If you have no items and add contestant 4 , the vq , she almost surely wins 90% of the battles because she has most built in goodies .

If you would be more specific would be good because body etheral e.g. is good against common troops but canceled by astral weapon or magic weapons .

Finally i wonder why you left out so important buffs as soul vortex , phönix pyre etc.

I personally would probably cast the following buffs : Quickness , invulnerability , phönix pyre , fire shield and soul vortex .

I deliberately chose the lower level buffs to see how the experts rate them. The contest was just for amusement value.

Allfather : Ironskin, Mirror Image, Luck, BoW
GK : Ironskin, Fire Resist, BoW, Luck. And he his already ethereal
Saurolich : Fire resist, Pers Regen, Luck, BoW. The idea here is to limit afflictions, as it is immortal.

Immortals heal afflictions, and personal regeneration dosn't work on a lifeless being.

I agree with The_Tauren13.

Quickness has got to be the best buff in the game (besides blood vengeance, I guess). +3 attack, +3 defense, increased movement, -and- two attacks a round? Wow.

Personal luck is probably better, since it doubles your hitpoints.

meh, quickness is over-rated (luck is extremely valuable, though). For a wraith sword thug, quickness is almost essential, but for a pretender SC, against indies, some sort of damage shield is more important.

Let's say you are mobbed by qhostriders. quickness won't get you very far, but a fireshield will wipe out most of them. Or BoW against fanatics...

Against another quality SC, I have a penchant for astral weapon, myself, and mirror image if i've gone the high defense route.

against mass chaff, regen is very nice, but mistform (some good armor along w/ it) is non-pareill

and luck is always a two-fer.
