My firefox hasn't been able to log onto gmail for a couple of weeks now. For me it's not that big a deal since I get my mail with thunderbird but it is something that needs to be looked into.

The only other problem I've ever run into with firefox is that I can't accept players for my PBW games, I have to use ie to do it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/mad.gif

This is not a problem in the "text" mode. All of the functions seem to work properly in it.

No software is perfect. You might need to delete it and reinstall... Maybe even make a new profile.

I suggest you uninstall and install Mozilla instead. It works fine. Actually it works Great! Firefox is for those people that have a 'Need' for bleeding edge new fangled software that is the 'Latest-greatest' incarnation of whatever. Problem is that bleeding edge is not always the 'greatest' and often has problems. Mozilla works fantastic for me, so It is beyond my comprehension why I should 'upgrade' to firefox when I see no major difference. (based on my standard use of the program)

Firefox has no more problems than Mozilla itself does... No reason to switch to Mozilla now.

It's not that big a deal, just report the error and wait for the fix. For me the additional features and customization options are worth putting up with minor errors.

One would expect Firefox to have more problems than Mozilla, since Mozilla has been in stable public release long before Firefox was even concieved. Firefox basically is Mozilla with everything not needed to look at webpages stripped out. So basically the past year or so has been devs weeding out dependencies left behind and some efficiency improvements. Any bugs that are part of the Gecko core would be fixed in both simultaneously, so it would seem that Mozilla would be the most stable Version ready for the public. And in fact, it is.

There really is no reason not to choose Mozilla over Firefox for basic web usage. Myself, I like the weekly builds, so... Firefox. Plus I still have a predjudice about taking up lots of hard drive space from my first computer's 400MB drive back around 1994, and I don't use the rest of the Mozilla suite. I don't need to worry about excess space usage any more (two 40GB drives and a 200GB drive), but it's still there (possibly because of the 20MB limit on my University server account http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
