I use it all the time in WinXP. No problems.

I use wordpad... works every time, except when the file gets over a couple megs in size http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Wordpad? You need to find a better text editor. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif Plenty of free ones out there.

You might try MetaPad. It's free and very robust.

What exactly is this tool you call "Component Editor" ? I only know the "SE 4 MODDER"

I use Editplus, but it is not free (25 dollars or something) and I haven't really mucked around with others (such as Metapad)... I don't really have a recommendation.

I use PSPad with a syntax hilighting for SE IV. Good editor and free.
