Possible bug
 

In my current game, I cast Flames from the Skies, Crumble, and a few Fire from
Afar at a province that I was besieging. Quite a few defenders died, but, to my
surprise, one of my own commanders was also wounded, and somehow ended up
in my capital, halfway across the map. He kept his equipment, and did not die,
so this is probably not related to the immortality bug.

Has anybody experienced similar problems?

That would be the expected behavior if the commander had at some point cast Ritual of Returning, and then got wounded.

I am positive I had not cast 'Ritual of Returning' and he was not wearing the
Armour of Virtue, or whatever the artifact with a built-in RoR is called. By
the way, the commander did not take part in a battle. He may have got the wound
from my spells, although I am pretty sure they are not supposed to affect allies.

Are the province numbers near each other? There has been this theory flowing around...
