Call god... not to capitol?

I thought Call God wouldn't work if the enemy held your capitol - no?

This is what happened to make me question that:

I stormed Marignon's capitol fortress and killed their pretender with a guardian of Ulm.

Several turns later, Marignon attacks me at Marignon with an army, as I was expecting, but their god is with the attacking army! (BTW, he killed the same guardian who had killed him before, with a fireball, but then another commander of Ulm came and hacked him up.)

So... does Call God call the god someplace besides the capitol, if the capitol is occupied?

Or, did they just happen to attack the capitol the same turn that Call God took effect, and in that case, the god joins the attacking army?

I'm guessing it's the latter... I know in Dominions 1 I held an enemy capitol, and their god was repeatedly summoned to that occupied territory and killed (alone) by my province defense.

Called back god appears outside of the capital if it's hold by enemy. So he will fight PD and patrollers (probably together with the other armies who move there on the same turn).

Aha! Ok, that makes sense. Pretty fun, really. Now I should really hunt down the Marignon clergy... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Thanks!
