Hogwarts
 
While been busy with 'Forest Of Loren' and to finishing it, I've been fiddling with another mod to Dom2. It's still in the development/idea stage and it's not one of my project I spend time on, but for fun.
The Idea was to create a 'Harry Potter' Universe within Dom2. Here's some thoughts how I want to create it:

The map is hogwarts school, parted into school classes, rooms and halls etc.
1 to 4 player mod only. 1v1v1v1 or 2v2
The nation will be Slytherin, Gryfindorf, Huggle Puff and RavenClaw. The Idea is to make each nation only with wizards. Each nation starts in the four corner of hogwarts castle. In the starting 'class room' there will be 4 immobile monolith which can pray to get your main character back. To win you have to take over the opponents starting class-room and destroy the monoliths. Or another option would be to get to headmaster room to win.
You can only recruit wizards. The only summons you can make is battle summoning.
The recruit list for all 4 will look like this:

1st year student
2nd year student
3rd year student
4th year student
5th year student
6th year student
7th year student

1st year student with lowest magic skill and 7th with best higest magic skills.

While figthing room to room with magic, you have to research to obtain more things to cast. Special class room/other rooms may contain special things.
Choose your character(Pretender) eg. Gryfindorf can get Harry Potter, Ron wesley etc. Slytherin can get Draco Malfoy etc.

Imagine Mega Magic duels!!! And kick Harry Potters butt with Draco Malfoy http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif

What do you think? Is it to far out? Anyone who likes to play such mod?
When I'm done with Forest Of Loren, I'm going to make Dracsia, so this mod Idea will take awhile for me to make, so don't stay up all night waiting http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

That is atleast different! It would be interesting, and I would try it, but I don't know about playing it... And I suspect the AI will be very bad at it. However, if you have the map, the basic idea is easy to test. Just make four nations consisting of four commanders, give them some magic and disable all the spells with those spell disablation mods. Then choose some spells (elementals, howl, raise dead/skeletons) and test it.

There are lots of interesting options for this, as all the non-modded spells will be disabled and there is no reason to hold back. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Only thing is, I would make any battlefield sumons you might include really hard to cast, because they would be pretty good in that kind of situation.

I just realized that anything flying would be absolutely awesome with this mod. And almost anything with ranged attack. Just think: enemy attacks, your mages summon 2 Air Elementals, enemy army routs. Because they had no time to summon anything, the first death routs them all!

Yup it would be interresting, because instead of dom2 based on (mostly) army, here it will be character base game. So you can scare off an opponent by slain one of his summoned creature. It's like showing 'Do your worst, I can handle it no matter what' attitude.
