Gaining Experience?
 

In a not-so-ancient thread I can no longer find, I found out that the Academy of War gives experience not only to the commander entering it, but all of his troops as well (woot).
However....
In a recent game I am testing (well, my mod), I notice that quite a bunch of troops are NOT getting experience at all, or dont seem to be. At first I thought it was summoned troops, but that is not the case, and now I am no longer sure.
Are there any classes of troops that gain XP more slowly, or not at all?
Or is the site somehow borked? Or capped at a certain number of troops?
