A simple question...
 
Can anyone point me to a recent modding document? I have one, but I don't think it's completely up-to-date with all the latest 'bells-and-whistles'.

The reason I ask is because I'd really like to know if I can horror mark a commander.

Well, adding magic item to a recruitable only adds the weapon or armor, and none of its properties. So that is out.

It might be possible to add a weapon that horrormarks everyone on AoE1, but then those commanders would just be kept far from melee if they still had their original weapon.

However, I don't remember ANY unit that starts with Horror Marked, so I don't believe Illwinter has made that avalable to modders.

They do have a unit that starts with random afflicitions, and that isnt available for modding (AFAIK), and since such unit exists, it shouldnt be too hard to add a #HorrorMarked tag...

But adding that would still be more work spent on DomII, and they are minimizing that. And it might not be very usable even from the modding perspective, as it would only be rather special weakness.

BTW, Scott, I just realized that I know only one mod you might be working on: the Exalted mod. Are you still working on that, or is this something new?

How very perceptive. Actually, I also have the ArcoBlood mod finished except for a few descriptions. I didn't have a way of making .tga files before now.

But yes, this is for the Exalted mod. The idea (if you know anything about Exalted) is for the Celestial Exalted, they have two forms: 'just better than human' and 'anima flaring'. Since you're revealing yourself to the Wyld Hunt if you flare (via Change Shape command), you get much better stats, but you get Horror-Marked... meaning that sooner or later, someone's going to come knocking.

Once I have the Solars done, I plan to do the Lunars, perhaps the Sidereals, definitely the Dragon-Blooded, and definitely the Alchemicals.

In the meantime... well, I'm hoping that Dominions 3 will solve my (rather large) problems with Dominions 2.
