Dome Bug? or undocumented feature?
So I did a little dome testing, for testing a defence against GR's, and have found something odd. Just for kicks, after playing around for a bit, I cast Dome of Air 4 times in a province (before I figured out that spells don't *desend* through stacked domes), then tried busting them with another race. After casting a few spells, and *shattering* one of the domes, I realized I still had the original 4 domes intact! So I did it again, same thing! The spell worked, a message said the Dome shattered, but it was still there!
I ran out of testing time, so I haven't been able to see what happens when I saturate the four Domes with offensive spells, or different numbers of Domes. Before I waste more time, has anyone else seen this behavior? and know everything about it? Please explain if so. Thanks! |
Re: Dome Bug? or undocumented feature?
This definitely sounds like a big bug. I would love to test this... but I'm at work. Has anyone else had same results? |
Re: Dome Bug? or undocumented feature?
I thought this was pretty well known. I think it has been reported, but maybe not?
You can do this with any dome/magic effect. I think it's semi-related to the Global wonkiness. |
Re: Dome Bug? or undocumented feature?
So if you cast e.g. 4 Domes of Air they get only completely destructed if spells get past all 4 of them ?
Good to know since i occasionally hoard a bit this is very useful information for me http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif |
Re: Dome Bug? or undocumented feature?
I've never heard of this effect before. I was under the impression that you could not stack domes of the same kind in the same province. Just what is going on?

Re: Dome Bug? or undocumented feature?
There is another bug with Air Dome. I casted Dome of Solid Air and any hostile spell by another race in same turn. Dome was shattered by this hostile spell, but when i view my province, i've seen 2 (two) Air Dome instead 0. So, i get 2 Dome at once.
