Simultanous movement question

Hi all,
If two fleets with differing speed left for a particular point at the same time from the same point (both can make it in a single turn) would they get there at the same time for combat/mine sweeping purposes?
I believe that combat occurs 6 times, but not sure how the movement relates to that with different movements. And when does mine sweeping/detonation occur within this breakdown.
The main reason I am asking is for multiplayer coordination with joint attacks and the like, I would hate to send two fleets to a warp point protected by mines and have the mine sweeping fleet arrived second. I realise by possibly sending them seperately (different turns), or by starting from 1 sector away I might not have to worry about this, but playing against humans this would give the game away and prevent surprise attacks etc..

Any ideas?

Regards,
Griffin

I don't think they do since 1 fleet will get there first. SO the first fleet will encounter the mines, then the second one. They only way to make sure is to have them as a fleet.

P.S I am sure of this since I sent 3 ships to attack a planet and the combat was resolved 1 ship at a time.

Ahh, wouldn't this make it impossible for two players to co-ordinate attacks? Surely a concern for PBEM games and the like.

Simultaneous movement works on a thirty day "month" (turn). I'm not sure if there is a set time for movement based on an items movement points, or it's randomly assigned when the item will move.

For the case of three ships attacking separately, if you shift+click ships and order them to move, they will move seperately in simultaneous mode (and after one turn in turn-based as well, try it. Shift+click three ships and send them off somewhere distant. First turn in turn-based, they will move as one, second turn, they will move seperately).

For the two fleets problem, the faster of the two will reach the target first.

Um coordinate attacks? Probably but you know space travel in not an exact science and Allies have been known to dally once in awhile. ( That why we still testing the darn thing!)
