My very first tutorial
I wrote my very first tutorial. It's about how to add ships to Starfury. I'm not sure if it's detailed enough or easy to understand.
Here's the link. Opinions are most welcome. http://koti.mbnet.fi/sfhaven/tutorial1.php |
Re: My very first tutorial
You were using an old version of the slotmodder in that example.
Also, reading those comments has promted me to fix the slot colour scheme http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Get the updated version: http://imagemodserver.mine.nu/other/...SlotModder.zip |
Re: My very first tutorial
Old version? Damn, now I have to do the SlotModder tutorial part again.
Well, thanks for the new version. |
Re: My very first tutorial
BTW, the stock layouts use 2pixel separations, which is why 2 is the default.
If you keep the separations consistent, then the slot modder can even autodetect the slot offsets each time you load a configuration http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
Re: My very first tutorial
Well I use 1 pixel every time. And I do like the fact that when I create a new hull type SlotModder remembers it. It saved A LOT of type when I added a CPU slot type to The People's Mod.

Re: My very first tutorial
The key is consistency.
As long as you keep it the same, the autodetect will work. Another handy old function is the "lock slots" checkbox. It allows you to click around to view the slots without worrying about accidentally moving them around http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
