question on nebula creation/destruction
Situation: a dead system. Nothing but asteroid fields. Someone comes along and creates a nebula in the system.
Question: if I were to destroy the nebula, will the system return to its pre-nebula state? Or will all the asteroid fields be gone? Not at my computer to try this out... |
Re: question on nebula creation/destruction
The asteroid fields will still be there. The only way to completely destroy all traces of a planet or asteroid field is to create a black hole.

Re: question on nebula creation/destruction
IIRC, You can even remote mine the asteroids if you remember where they were (or have a sufficiently powerful anti-cloak sensor.)

Re: question on nebula creation/destruction
does that mean that a planet could still be created there? Or would there have to be a sun in the system still?
|
Re: question on nebula creation/destruction
Planet creation requires a sun, and sun creation can't be done in a nebula as far as I know. So, the only way intact planets can be in nebulas is if they are generated that way at the start, which only happens in non-custom-edited stock maps if the game runs out of places to put homeworlds.
