Enable AI to recruit national troops everywhere?
 
I play sp from time to time too and enjoy it. Today i had the thought that it would maybe possible to allow the AI to recruit it's national troops in every province of the map.

Would this tweak be possible for a future patch of dominions, Kristoffer or Johan?
This way there would be no need to program a castle building algorith and a SP-War vs. e.g. Ulm would hopefully then be 60% Ulm national troops and 40% Indies and not 90% Indies and 10% national troops as it is now http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif.

If this change would be possible to do it would be a quick and simple but very nice enchantment for SP imho http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif.
If not i am likely making a small mod (17 mods) where all nations have 1 resource cost as recruiting costs for their troops expect the one nation the player choses. This way the ai could at least recruit 50 national troops each turn and more when it conquers some of my castles or discovers independent castles like firbolg castles http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif.

The AI needs lots of help in many areas... one of the main areas is what you mentioned... the type of troops being recruited. The current AI goes out of its way to summon mass amounts of low level weak units... easily seen on large maps.

Another AI problem... it's not aware or able to prevent starving troops. Battles it should have won... the computer will lose because of starving/diseased troops.

Another AI problem... it does NOT cast some of the great spells such as Send Horror, Ghost Riders, Flames from the Sky, and many important summoning spell types such as the Elemental King and Queens. It will actually waste it's fire gems to summon the weak and expensive fire salamanders tho.

Another AI problem... they are terrible at research. By day_40 even a struggling human opponent will have passed the impossible AI opponents. Plus they don't know how to summon sages from libraries which also cripples their research on big maps.

I always play with supplymultiplier 500-1000 so the Supply is 5-10 times as more as in Vanilla and with resourcemultiplier of about 200% so +100% resources.

So the AI has rarely starving only with its main 1000 man army and it builds some more high resource troops. I normally play with vh research also. This way i find it quite difficult.

All your listed AI-weaknesses are of course true but not so bad with the settings i play with because they help the ai a lot. I think i have occasionally seen mictlan or abysia using send lesser horror spell or send horror spell also http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif.

So if the AI could recruit its national troops everywhere for me it would be probaly sufficient and fun to play with occasionally http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif.
