PBEM corrupt file problem
I just hosted a turn (I'm the host) in my PBEM game and received a message that the Ermor file is corrupt. What are the implications of this error and what are my options?

Re: PBEM corrupt file problem
I don't know how it happened, but your only option is to host again the last turn. If the error still happens, I guess you will have to run back the last turn but one. It will only work if the error was linked to an hosting that went wrong, however.
I cannot think of anything else to do about this, besides contacting Illwinter. |

How do I host the last turn again?

Re: PBEM corrupt file problem
Go to your backup directory and copy paste all the files, assuming you did back them up. You should always back up all the games files, and especially the fatherland file (it can be used to recreate the .trn files, and is needed to host), just in case of such things happening.
Illwinter might be able to fix the corrupt turn file, or tell you what's wrong with it, but I cannot speak for them. |
Re: PBEM corrupt file problem
I have the ermor turn file that I generated saved if you need it... |
Re: PBEM corrupt file problem
I haven't been backing up my files, but will from now on. I'm not sure if the last turn can be redone.

I lost a province that would have been nice to keep, but oh well. At least now I have a good excuse if I lose http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif |
Re: PBEM corrupt file problem
Oh, I had expected the file to be completely broken... though even in this case, you could have recreated all the .trn files by running another turn. So long as the fatherland file works, there's hope. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
