DuskDagger, an underestimated weapon ?
In an Ermor BE game I forged a Duskdagger - mainly because it was early game (turn 15 IIRC), my research was poor and I had only Cons2- to equip my PoD pretender.
And eventually I discovered a very good weapon : stats aren't impressive - dmg 2 att 2- but the weapon is 1 handed and *Armor Negating* ! So you can have 2 of them (4 attacks with Quickness), or one plus a Lucky Coin. Wielded by a 18+ str SC you can deal enough damage to kill anything in a couple rounds as long as you have a decent attack. As armor is irrelevant you have no problem with thos Ironskinned Cyclops and even less with those pesky IDs http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif Looking in Zen's MIQR, it appears Duskdagger is the only AN weapon that does add strength, except for the quite unwieldy and expensive Gate Cleaver... |
Re: DuskDagger, an underestimated weapon ?
I've equipped SCs with a blood thorn and a dusk dagger. It worked well in SP but never tried it in MP. |
Re: DuskDagger, an underestimated weapon ?
Using astral weapon gives you armor negating attacks with any weapon http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif.
Pretenders can do it, Golems and Tartarians which are lucky and get astralmagic http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
Re: DuskDagger, an underestimated weapon ?
Ive used it a few times, especially on Thugs/SCs that got the heroic strength ability, it is very useful, especially with quickness.
Try it on something really really strong with heroic strength and watch everything get one-hit-killed (such nice and cheap thug would be a niefel with loads of strength and IIRC have water magic for quickness as well as easy access to death magic being Jotunheimish). |
