Map Editor Updates

Does anybody know if there is an updated map editor for SEIV better than 1.31 which is the one currently installed with the game. I thought maybe the 1.91 patch might address the mapping problems, but I guessed wrong. One of the most annoying problems is when I delete a system http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif and the planets and asteroids don't go away, but MOVE to another system. I just want to know if there's a patch or an updated map editor?

The Map Editor has not been updated since 1.31. We are stuck with it, unfortunately.

If there is one thing that *desperatly* needs to be released to the community so we can fix it it is the ABYSMAL map editor.

Unfortunatly the way its encrypted currently, allowing access to the map editor code would permit anyone from being able to open up exsisting game files, making it quite easy to cheat in multiplayer games.

Sure hope so. The current map editor is not very friendly to use.

Do you really feel that map editing in a game in progress is a big problem that should be addressed in the next Version? I would think that most people play the game for the challenge and the excitement of the game. I played SFB (Star Fleet Battles) for years and just got tired of the "Rules Lawyering" http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/mad.gif that now goes with the game. I guess winning at all costs is still popular.

I also beleive that there should be a Scenario Editor http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif included in the new version. The way I understand it, the only way to create a scenario is to play the game in "all player" mode and then save it when you reach the point that you want your scenario to start at.

It would be a concern for multiplayer gaming, where cheating hurts more than just the cheater.
