Liberties of winSP
The members of the Yahoo SP mailing list are extremely well aware of the fact that the amount of tweaking to be done to SP is limited. However, now that winSP has been released, may the community expect fundamental, yet shallow changes, such as.. say, streams running from higher elevations and down, or pavement and such above elevation 0? May there be addition of new unit classes, in theory even hovercrafts and such, or will there not be done more to the code than what has been usual?
My apologies if this topic has been covered. Henning |

Re: Liberties of winSP
Is this the "I want this and this and this" thread? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif
Streams running down high terrain ( simply streams that don't level terrain) would be fine. While we're talking terrain here, I would also like to see the 'hedgerow' logic expanded to include other barriers, like barb-wire fences, farm fences, concrete walls, barricades, berms, fortifications... Whatever works! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif And I know I have heard that on the Yahoo list, someone asked about adjustable or at least known top height of buildings, to allow watchover and roof-to-roof fighting... Now I know I am asking to muchhttp://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif. I keep doing sohttp://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif. I know I don't make the programming, and I want our dear Don and Andy to live long again to enjoy some well-earned rest and, of course, go on improving their brain-child http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif, instead of working themselves to their prematurate death! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Now since we're talking new features, probably you heard Andy taking about landable transport planes on this thread . That would be a nice thing to add, if it can be worked in. And since no one is pushing them on this one, all the better! Regards, Plasma |
