Modifing sound

Hi all!
Sorry for my limited English.

I've one question:
Is this possible to modify certain sounds under WINSPMBT?
For example, I would like to modify the sound of a shooting of missile or even of the impacts of bombs.
I find that the original sounds miss realism and I would like to replace them by others that I found on the Web.
I fear that some of these sounds are not modifiable because they form part of the source code of the game.

Does somebody have an answer or even an idea?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Modifing sound

Salut Cronos!

Désolé, mais je dois suivre la loi de la majorité...*

When it comes to sound editing, all sounds are stored separately as .mp3 files in the WinSPMBT\Game Data\Sounds folder. There is also a "sounds.ini" file which says which sound file is assigned which number in MOBhack.

With the right software you can edit these sounds, create or import your own (by directly replacing the files), and by carefully tweaking the ini file you can also swap some sounds or add your wn without deleting the original.

There were several threads about this already, only I cannot find them again. I think that someone even made a reference list about what sound represents what, but you'll have to check this around. Just browse through the forum for anything with "sound" in it for more info.

Bye!

Re: Modifing sound

You can use either Wav files or Mp3s
Just make sure to rensame your new sound to the same name as your old one, then make sure in the.INI file, found in the game data/sounds folder, you have it listed correctly as either wav or MP3.

there is no list...many weapons use 3 or 4 different sounds.
some listed in mobhack do not even use the sound that is listed( for instance m1 rifle says it uses sound number 119, but seems to me it is using the 60-65 sounds) so it is kinda hard sometimes to figure out what is what.
